This easy candy eyeball popcorn is a quick and fun Halloween snack mix made with popcorn, white chocolate, and candy eyeballs. It’s perfect for parties, school events, or spooky movie nights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 cups popped popcorn (about 1/3 cup unpopped kernels), plain, unsalted, unbuttered
  • 12 ounces white chocolate melting wafers or candy melts (about 2 cups)
  • 1 cup candy eyeballs (about 100 pieces)
  • 1/4 cup Halloween sprinkles (optional)
  • 1 cup pretzel sticks, broken into 1-inch pieces (optional)
  • 1/2 cup candy corn (optional)
  • Pinch of flaky sea salt (like Maldon)

Instructions

  1. Pop the popcorn: If using an air popper, pop about 1/3 cup of kernels. If using microwave popcorn, pop one bag of plain, unsalted, unbuttered popcorn. Let it cool completely on a baking sheet for about 5 minutes.
  2. Prepare your baking sheet: Line a half-sheet pan with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  3. Melt the white chocolate: Place the white chocolate melting wafers or candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring after each interval, until completely smooth and melted (about 1.5 to 2 minutes total). Be careful not to overheat.
  4. Combine the popcorn and chocolate: Pour the melted white chocolate over the cooled popcorn in a large mixing bowl. Use a silicone spatula to gently fold until every piece is coated.
  5. Add the mix-ins: Sprinkle in the candy eyeballs, pretzel pieces, candy corn (if using), and Halloween sprinkles. Fold gently again to distribute evenly.
  6. Spread on the baking sheet: Dump the coated popcorn onto the prepared baking sheet. Spread into an even layer. Sprinkle flaky sea salt over the top while the chocolate is still wet.
  7. Let it set: Allow the popcorn to sit at room temperature for 20-30 minutes, or until the white chocolate is completely firm. For faster setting, refrigerate for 10-15 minutes.
  8. Break it up: Once the chocolate is set, break the popcorn into clusters with your hands.
  9. Serve or store: Transfer to a serving bowl or store in an airtight container.

Notes

Use plain, unsalted, unbuttered popcorn for best results. If using regular white chocolate chips, add 1 teaspoon of coconut oil to help them melt smoothly. For a dairy-free version, use dairy-free white chocolate chips or vegan candy melts. Check labels for allergens if serving at school events.
