This sticky honey garlic salmon is sweet, savory, and caramelized to perfection on a single sheet pan. Ready in under 25 minutes, it’s the ultimate easy dinner for busy weeknights or impressive dinner parties.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon fillets (about 6 oz / 170g each, skin on or off)
  • 1/3 cup honey (110g)
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce (45ml)
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar (15ml)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil (15ml)
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1 pound green beans, trimmed (450g)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (30ml)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for garnish)
  • 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Position the rack in the middle of the oven. Line a sheet pan with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and cornstarch until the cornstarch is completely dissolved. Set aside about 2 tablespoons of the glaze for drizzling later.
  3. Toss the trimmed green beans with olive oil, a pinch of salt, and a few cracks of black pepper. Spread them on one half of the prepared sheet pan in a single layer.
  4. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides lightly with salt and pepper. Place the fillets on the other half of the sheet pan, skin-side down if they have skin.
  5. Brush the glaze generously over the top and sides of each salmon fillet. Pour any remaining glaze (minus the reserved 2 tablespoons) over the green beans and toss to coat.
  6. Roast for 12-15 minutes, depending on the thickness of the fillets. The salmon should be opaque and flake easily with a fork, but still slightly translucent in the center for medium.
  7. Optional: Switch the oven to broil for the last 1-2 minutes to caramelize the glaze further. Watch carefully to avoid burning.
  8. Remove the sheet pan from the oven and let it rest for 2-3 minutes. Drizzle the reserved glaze over the salmon and green beans. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.
  9. Serve immediately, spooning any extra glaze from the pan over the top.

Notes

Pat the salmon dry for the best glaze adhesion. Do not overcrowd the pan. Watch the broiler closely to avoid burning. Let the salmon rest for a couple of minutes before serving. Double the glaze if feeding a crowd.
