Festive Cranberry Rosemary Christmas Cocktail with Prosecco - featured image

A quick and easy holiday cocktail made by muddling fresh cranberries and rosemary directly in the glass, then topping with Prosecco for a tart, herbal, and bubbly drink that’s perfect for Christmas gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6–8 fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 1 sprig fresh rosemary (plus extra for garnish)
  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 1/2 lime (juiced)
  • 4–6 ounces Prosecco (brut, chilled)
  • Ice cubes
  • Optional: whole cranberries and rosemary sprig for garnish

Instructions

  1. Wash the cranberries and rosemary sprigs. Cut the limes in half. If using frozen cranberries, let them thaw for 5-10 minutes.
  2. Place 6-8 cranberries, one sprig of rosemary, and 1 teaspoon of sugar in the bottom of a serving glass or cocktail shaker.
  3. Muddle gently with a muddler, pressing and twisting to crush the cranberries and bruise the rosemary, about 15-20 seconds. Do not over-muddle.
  4. Squeeze the juice of half a lime over the muddled mixture and stir to combine.
  5. Fill the glass about halfway with ice cubes.
  6. Slowly pour 4-6 ounces of chilled Prosecco over the ice.
  7. Garnish with a fresh rosemary sprig and a few whole cranberries on a toothpick. Serve immediately.

Notes

For best flavor, use fresh rosemary and fresh lime juice. The sugar helps break down the cranberries during muddling. Do not use dried cranberries. The muddled base can be made up to 2 days ahead and stored in the fridge. Add ice and Prosecco just before serving.
