These mummy pigs in a blanket are a quick, fun, and kid-friendly Halloween treat made with crescent rolls and hot dogs, served with a spicy mustard dip. They come together in under 30 minutes and are perfect for parties or weeknight fun.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 8 beef or turkey hot dogs
  • Yellow mustard (for eyes)
  • 1/4 cup yellow mustard
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll the crescent roll dough onto a clean cutting board. If using perforated triangle sheets, gently press the seams together to form one solid rectangle.
  3. Cut the dough lengthwise into 8 even strips, each about 1/2-inch wide.
  4. Take one hot dog and wrap a dough strip around it, slightly overlapping as you go. Leave a small gap near the top for the mummy’s eyes. Place on the prepared baking sheet. Repeat with remaining hot dogs and dough strips.
  5. Using a toothpick or the tip of a knife, make two small indentations on the exposed hot dog area. Squeeze a tiny dot of yellow mustard into each indentation.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and puffed.
  7. While the mummies bake, make the dip: In a small bowl, whisk together the yellow mustard, mayonnaise, honey, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.
  8. Let the mummies cool for 2-3 minutes on the baking sheet before transferring to a serving plate.

Notes

For best results, keep the dough cold and handle it gently. Use a toothpick to dot the mustard eyes for precision. The dip can be made a day ahead and refrigerated. Unbaked mummies can be frozen for up to 2 months.
