These candy corn jello shots are the kind of thing that makes people stop and stare. You get that perfect tri-color gradient—yellow, orange, and white—stacked neatly in a little cup that looks exactly like everyone’s favorite controversial Halloween candy.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box (3 oz) lemon jello
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • 1/2 cup vodka
  • 1 box (3 oz) orange jello
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • 1/2 cup vodka
  • 1 box (3 oz) unflavored gelatin
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1/2 cup vodka

Instructions

  1. Prepare your workspace: Clear a shelf in your refrigerator where a baking sheet will sit flat. Arrange 24 plastic cups on the baking sheet, leaving space between each.
  2. Make the yellow layer: In a 4-cup measuring cup, empty the lemon jello packet. Add 1 cup boiling water and stir until dissolved (about 2 minutes). Add 1/2 cup cold water and 1/2 cup vodka. Stir gently. Pour 1 tablespoon of the yellow mixture into each cup. Refrigerate for 45 minutes to 1 hour until firm.
  3. Make the orange layer: In a clean measuring cup, dissolve the orange jello in 1 cup boiling water. Stir for 2 minutes. Add 1/2 cup cold water and 1/2 cup vodka. Let sit at room temperature.
  4. Add the orange layer: Once the yellow layer is set, carefully pour 1 tablespoon of the orange mixture on top of each cup, pouring slowly against the side. Refrigerate for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
  5. Make the white layer: In a medium bowl, sprinkle unflavored gelatin over 1/2 cup cold water. Let sit for 5 minutes to bloom. Heat 1 cup water to boiling, pour over bloomed gelatin, and stir until dissolved. Whisk in the entire can of sweetened condensed milk, then add 1/2 cup vodka and stir until smooth.
  6. Add the white layer: Once the orange layer is set, pour 1 tablespoon of the white mixture on top of each cup, pouring slowly. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
  7. Serve: Pop the lids on the cups and arrange on a platter. Serve cold.

Notes

Let each layer set fully (45 minutes to 1 hour) before adding the next to prevent colors from mixing. Pour liquids slowly against the side of the cup. For non-alcoholic version, replace vodka with cold water. Store in refrigerator for up to 5 days; do not freeze.
